A woman with autism has self-published a book to help people with the condition and their families.
Amie Martin, 26, who lives in Swansea, was inspired to write her book after engaging a large audience on social media whilst sharing her experiences of being autistic.
Her book, ‘Amie’s Bubble of Autism’ is a personal account of the challenges she has faced whilst living with autism. She hopes the book will help support families who have relatives with the condition.

Amie has received positive feedback and reviews from her book and says one mother contacted her to say that the only reason her autistic 19- year-old son lives independently is due to the advice Amie has given in the book.
Amie has more than two thousand followers on her Facebook page and updates them daily about what she gets up to in her daily life.
Her mother Claire Daracott said:“This is something Amie has always wanted to do since she was little, this book is completely her. It is all her work."
“It’s a dream come true to see her book being sold.”

Amie said: “I wanted to show people like me with autism that it’s okay to be different, I want people to feel more confident about themselves after reading my book.”
Her mother, added how proud she was of Amie for opening up and sharing her story with thousands of people.
“It was a big challenge for Amie to dip into her past and open up about her experiences but she wanted to share her story to help others.
“The response we have got from the book has been so positive, we’ve had mums with young children with autism say that Amie has shown them that their children can live independently like Amie one day,” says Claire.

A spokesperson from the National Autism Team said: “It is brilliant to see autistic people using their voice and experiences to improve people’s awareness and understanding of the condition."
