London to tackle vehicle emissions with  hydrogen powered buses

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has committed to making London carbon neutral by 2030, if he wins re-election.

Road traffic is currently responsible for half of the air pollution in the capital.

Hydrogen is only one of a variety of low emission vehicles, with hybrid and battery electric vehicles also offering environmental advantages.

Transport for London have commissioned 20 zero-emission hydrogen-fueled buses, due to enter service in 2020. Hydrogen vehicles use liquid hydrogen as fuel and the only emission they produce is clean water.
