Let's talk free school meals in England and Wales  

Episode one

 

According to Welsh Government figures, 85,731 pupils aged between five and 15 years old can access free school meals.

During lockdown, each child gets £19.50 per week instead -as a voucher, direct payment, or a food parcel.

​

 The quality of these food hampers has come under fire after a mother posted a picture on Twitter of her family parcel which was meant to be £30 worth of food but instead looked like £5 worth.

​

On this episode of Mondays with Monde I will be joined by  Riley Scott, 19-year-old from Cwmbran - who used to receive free meals when in school and spoke about this issue.
